Our
2.0L taper throttle kit was originally developed by Steve in 1994
for a customer running a privately funded Touring car, being very
pleased with the results obtained, he decided to run the kit on
a standard engine. The kit proved extremely efficient & as a
direct replacement of the standard induction system gives an incredible
39% increase in power, provided a suitable exhasut system is used.
It gives an almost road car like driving characteristics, very smooth
& progressive and good all round driveability. It is extremely
popular in the sprint, hillclimb, circuit & rally scene, selling
in large numbers all around the world. Trevor Willis used this kit
on his Westfield when he become the overall winner of 1996 &
1997 CCC Speed Championship.
This, our most popular kit, is the basis for all the other kits
2.0L XE taper range, so it's simple to increase the power of your
engine output by upgrading this kit if you want to at a later date.
It comes with a MBE Ecu ready programmed & ready to use.
The
kit is designed to use the Bosch Cream Injectors, Part No.0280 150
744, as fitted to the 2.0L XE engine, however if your injectors
are tired you may wish to replace them with our pattern version
INJ-744-P.
The
wiring harnesses have been speically designed to beas neat as possible
and are available in front or rear wheel drive layouts to cover
as many applications as possible, when ordering your kit you should
specify whether your car is front, rear or mid engine layout.

Fuel
Regulator Options
The
kits come with a FR1 fuel pressure regulator, however if you are
anticipating upgrading the kit in the future we would recommend
you choose one of the following options;
FR2SB
Fuel
regulator with high specificiation internals with consistently accurately
maintained fuel pressure on high usage fuel systems, black top,
supplied with -6 & -8 loose couplings. (Shown right with bracket)
FR-3.5
& FR-MNT Fuel
regulator 3.5 Bar (51.45 PSI) & mounting bracket. (Shown far
right)

Fuel
Injection Options
If
you are aniticipating upgrading the kit to 230bhp in the future,
you may wish to choose to use the smaller high flow peco injectors,
these require a different fuel rail which can be substituted as
part of the kit instead of the standard rail. Alternatively if you
wish to upgrade later, the fuel rail can be purchased separately.

Barometric
Sensors
If
you are likely to be using the engine in situations when you are
at altitude ie. travelling abroad in the mountains, then you'll
need to run this sensor to adjust the fuel mixture to compensate.

may wish to upgrade the rod bolts to heavy duty bolts which will
allow you to increase the rev limit from 7250 to 7750.

kits will only yield their true potential when used in conjunction with
our exhaust manifold or one made to our design and a suitable exhaust
system. The recommended manifold is stated at the beginning of each upgrade.
