This 1st upgrade for the 1.4L engine gives a sensible improvement in power, with the MBE Ecu coming ready programmed & ready to run. It utilises a new cam profile that increases the duration & lift, however this means that the valve springs & caps have to be replaced.

Due to the increased lift, the pistons need to be replaced with Omega high compression pistons; these have deeper valve pockets, however the rods must be replaced. This option will allow your engine to rev to max 9000 rpm so long as an appropriate oil system is fitted.

Due to the increase in lobe height, on some occasions, it may be necessary to modify the head casting slightly to allow the lobes to clear. Also the new valve springs are of a slightly larger diameter and the head-casting diameter will need to be increased at the base of the spring.

You must use the standard injectors fitted to the 2.0L XE pre93 engine, these are made by Bosch, cream in colour part number is 0208 150 744, however if your injectors are tired you may wish to replace them with our pattern version INJ-744-P.
