Exhaust manifold type needed to run this with this kit *A-1.6L-XE
This kit
is the basis for the upgrades in the 1.4L taper throttle range & the
MBE ecu comes complete with a program allowing you to be ready to run
immediately. We have had reports that adding this kit to the standard
engine can produce between 125 & 137 bhp dependant on your engine
version.
The
standard injectors fitted to the 1.4L 16v engine are unable to supply
enough fuel to cope with the improvements in power that the taper system
adds to this engine, so they have to be replaced. We use the Bosch Blue
injectors, Part No.0280 150 427, as fitted to the 2.0L LN engine. These
should be readily available from breakers yards, if not you can buy them
from us.
The wiring harnesses have been specially designed to be as neat as possible and are available in front or rear wheel drive layouts to cover as many applications as possible, when ordering your kit you should specify whether your car is front, rear or mid engine layout.

You may wish to replace the standard Corsa coil with our more reliable COIL-4, which suits distributor less engines. Shown left is the coil and our specially developed bracket & adaptor plates for the 1.6L engine.
Fuel Regulator Options
The kits
come with a FR1 fuel pressure regulator, however if you are anticipating
upgrading the kit in the future we would recommend you choose one of the
following options;
FR2SB Fuel regulator with high specificiation internals with consistently accurately maintained fuel pressure on high usage fuel systems, black top, supplied with -6 & -8 loose couplings. (Shown right)
FR-3.5 & FR-MNT Fuel regulator 3.5 Bar (51.45 PSI) & mounting bracket. (Shown far right)
Fuel Injection
Options
If you are aniticipating upgrading the to +30 bhp in the futrue, you may wish to choose to use the smaller high flow peco injectors, these require a different fuel rail which can be substituted as part of the kit instead of the standard rail. Alternatively if you wish to upgrade later, the fuel rail can be purchased separately.

Barometric
Sensors
If you are likely to be using the engine in situations when you are at altitude ie. travelling abroad in the mountains, then you'll need to run this sensor to adjust the fuel mixture to compensate.

You may wish to upgrade the rod bolts to heavy duty bolts which will allow you to increase the rev limit from 7250 to 7750.
