PIST-OM88.00SLS & PIST-OM87.00SLS- NEW DESIGN We have developed a new slipper piston with Omega for the 2.0L XE engine. This was based on our original design that was developed in the late 1990's, we have increased the compression, changed it to a 2 ring design to reduce friction. The prototypes we have supplied to several well known engine builders who reported up to 10 bhp increase just from changing to the new piston & no problems with oil consumption. With the latest batch Omega have now coated the skirts of the pistons to reduce friction further. They are available in 87.00mm & 88.00mm, they must be used with our long con-rod with is available for either standard width crankshaft journals or reduced width big-ends for use on our high spec steel crank. |

Powerful Pistons. The guys at SBD Motorsport, along with the chaps from Omega have come up with these. They're slipper pistons designed for those of you who are running 2.0-litre XE engines. On recent testing they have been shown to give out an extra 10bhp. They're based on the unit that SBD designed in the '90s, except now they are two-ringed so as to reduce friction, along with having increased compression. They are also coated with a substance used by many of the GP Motorbike builders, which reduces friction levels further. They are available in either 87.00mm or 88.00mm, although it's worth bearing in mind that they need to be used with SBD's long con-rod kit. |

PIST-OM87.00-TURB We have been asked for some time about turbo pistons for 2.0L LET/XE (2046cc) & since there was so much interest, we finally decided to get Omega to produce a high quality piston. We've had it made in one size to suit 87.00mm bore, this will allow the user to re-bore a standard size block that is either worn or damaged to give a perfect finish. The piston has been designed with a large dish, which gives low compression. If you wish to raise the compression you can machine the head to suit your requirements. Set of 4 with rings. |

Proper Pistons The guys at SBD aim to please, so after receiving a flurry of enquires they have begun producing a high quality version of the LET/XE Vauxhall piston. It's being produced to suit an 87mm bore meaning the user to re-bore a standard size that could be worn or damaged, resulting in a perfect finish. The piston has been designed with a large dish thus generating low compression. If this isn't to your liking and you'd like to raise the compression you can have the head machined to your requirements. |
