2. Screw assembled filter unit onto engine block male spigot (or remote filter head) by hand until the filter face seal engages the block (or remote filter head) seal face. If thread does not start easily or binds, check that the thread type is correct for the application.

3. From the position that the face seal engages, tighten the filter a further 1/3rd of a turn or 120*, using the spool milled hexagon (32mm AF spanner or socket). This is equivalent of approx 15 lb/ft (20 NM) torque.

WARNING
Do not tighten by the visual indicator, electronic indicator or blanking plug.
Do not over tighten as this could lead to failure of the filter spool & severe engine damage.

4. Removal is by the reverse procedure; loosen by the spool milled hexagon (turn anti-clockwise).
