We
have developed a dry sump system for the Suzuki Hayabusa which includes
a twin stage scavenge pump which replaces the original water pump
(you will need to use an electric pump) which mounts directly to
our billet dry sump pan without the need for any hoses. The pump
can be easily fitted & removed in minutes if required. You will
only need to provide a supply from your dry sump tank & a return
to the tank (via oil cooler if required). The billet is extremely
rigid & will add strength to your engine. There are 4 additional
lugs with M8 threads which allow you to mount directly to the floor
of your car if required. The Cometic
gasket GSK-SUZ-H-SMP is ideal for this system and is reuseable
(shown below).
Latest
improvements to the design, the oil pressure relief valve system
has been altered to recirculate straight into the supply line, this
reduces the amount of work the scavenge pumps have to do & keeps
more oil in the dry sump tank.

small Bosch electric water pump is suitable for use with the Hayabusa
engine. We use it on our own supercharger installion producing over
300bhp with no issues.

Hayabusa oil pump high speed drive gear, designed to increase oil
pump speed. This helps to increase idle oil pressure. Also increases
low rpm oil pressure if used in conjunction with our dry sump system. |

SMP-6K-BUSA
Hayabusa CNC sump pan is 51mm deep. Due to its shape it allows
for an increased oil capacity and also accommodates a swinging pick
up pipe which is included in the kit. This helps to maintain good
oil pressure as the swinging pick up pipe moves in the direction
of the oil flow. The swinging pick-up wet sump kit is a neat compact
design, especially for use where installion is tight. IDEAL FOR
ROAD USE.
We
are regularly asked about wet sump for track use, because dry sump
is thought to be too expensive, in the tests we have carried out
over a 5 year period, we haven't found a wet sump system capable
of maintaining a consistant oil supply to the oil pump at the high
G-forces that are achieved in track use. The only system that came
close, was so complex & bulky and cost more than a dry sump
system. We
therefore do not recommend this sump for Competition or Track day
use, a dry sump system is the only option for Track use OS-DSK-BUSA-01
(see above).

We
have also designed a baffle plate SMP-BFL7, which is to go
between the block and the sump pan, to further improve oil control.
We recommend its use with 2
gaskets, one above the baffle and one below. The Cometic
type shown GSK-SUZ-H-SMP is ideal for this and is reuseable.
The
baffle is only for use with SMP-6K-BUSA & is NOT suitable for
use with the standard sump pan.

THE RIGHT
SUMP: New from SBD is this cool new sump pan for Suzuki Hayabusa applications.
The design of the CNC pan allows for increased oil capacity & accommodates
a swinging pick up pipe which is alos included in the kit. The swinging
pick up maintains a steady level of oil pressure as it moves with the
direction of the oil flow. In addition to the sump, SBD alsp offer a baffle
plates to go between the block & the sump pan. SBD suggest the use
of two reusable Cometic gaskets above & below the baffle.
