CLT-70-**** Clutch Plate Organic Sprung Centre

Clutch Plate Organic Sprung Centre CLT-70-****

This design of clutch plate features damper springs arranged radially around the hub centre, which together with facing segments provides progressive engagement and a grater degree of clutch control. The organic facing material is the best high performance material available with facings over 200mm diameter being backed to give a much higher burst strength.

This type of clutch plate is most suitable for road use & light competition work.

CLT-76-**** Clutch Plate Cerametallic Sprung Centre

Clutch Plate Cerametallic Sprung Centre CLT-76-****

This design incorporates a sprung centre to provide some protection against drive line shock. Manufactured with a rigid adaptor plate (instead of cushion segments incorporating cerametallic pads as shown. This cerametallic material keeps its friction properties to a much higher temperature than the organic material.

This type of clutch plate is more suitable for high energy competition applications like rallying although it can be used for road use where the organic clutch plate cannot withstand the higher operating temperatures.

CLT-78-**** Clutch Plate Cerametallic Rigid Centre
Clutch Plate Cerametallic Rigid Centre CLT-78-****

The rigid cerametallic clutch plate has no form of damper or segment cushioning and is designed for the most arduous of working conditions where strength and durability are paramount with the heat resistant properties of the cerametallic friction pads.

Sintered Plates

Sintered Plates CLT-53-****, CLT-54-****, CLT-58-****, CLT-59-****

Sintered clutch plates have a thin layer of a metallic friction material bonded on to both sides of the metal disc. The very nature of this construction means these are normally used for racing only

CLTC-60-**** Heavy Duty Clutch Cover

Heavy Duty Clutch Covers CLTC-60-****

The heavy duty clutch covers are designed for applications where the engine/vehicle performance has been increased above standard.

All Helix racing clutches are manufactured from new components of the highest standards using the best materials available, they are designed to give a higher clamp load to cope with higher torque together with an increase engine rpm.

These units can usually be fitted as a direct replacement for the standard unit without modification to the flywheel and retained the standard clutch release mechanism.

Helix have advised us that 'For a clutch to cope with extra torque you need a heavy duty cover as well as a sprung paddle plate. Using a sprung paddle plate with a standard cover only provides about 15% increase in capacity. Horsepower does not come into the equation - only torque determines the clutch'

Flywheel bolts

Flywheel bolts are available for the 2.0L, 1.6L & 1.4L Vauxhall engines in standard & heavy duty.

We are frequently asked what the weights of these components are, therefore the approx weight has been included in the descripton of each item. To calculate the weight of your chosen selections, add the weights of the various components together, remembering that the clutch plates are shown as weight per plate. Please see examples below
Weight calculation
FLY-W1 (5.1kg) + CLTC-12-4626 (4.3kg) + CLT-70-4628 (1.4kg) = Total weight 10.8kg

Weight calculation
FLY-W1-AL (3.3kg) + CLTC-12-4626 (4.3kg) + CLT-78-4627 (0.9kg) = Total weight 8.5kg
