Some of the other benefits that can be gained from using our dry sump systems, which are specially manufactured for us by Pace Products, is that on the high specs of pumps, the scavenge stages are large enough to generate a vacuum. This allows you to do two things, first of all remove all the breathers from the engine, which means less plumbing and a neater engine installation. In some cases we have even seen BHP gains due to the fact the engine is running in a vacuum. The dry sump systems we supply will suit almost every type of car you can imagine, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive mid engine cars e.g. Westfield's, Caterhams, Mallocks, Vauxhall Lotus, single seater, Astras & cars with cross members in the way. Some systems have lugs at the front to mount the engine directly to the chassis of the car some have rear legs to allow attachment to a bellhousing or adapter plate, fins are also fitted on some versions to protect the flywheels. There is also a mount fitted to the front of the higher spec sump pans where we can fit an external crank sensor pick up fro use with high revving engines. If you don't find a system to suit your needs please give us a ring as we can usually make one to suit your requirements. What you get in your kit Every system contains: · Three stage pump with pulley · Mounting bracket or front cover* · Sump pan · Sump pan filters & fitting to couple sump to the pump · Pipes & hoses from sump to pump · Drive belt & crank mounted drive pulley *Note The mounting bracket allows the dry sump pump to be mounted on the exhaust side (PWR power steering pump side) of the 2.0L & you retain the original oil pump housing removing all its internals using it only to feed oil into the block. The front cover type is designed to replace the original oil pump completely and we have designed it in such a way that the dry sump pump can, is mounted on to it. The dry sump pump can be mounted onto either intake side (ALT alternator side) of the engine or the exhaust side (PWR). The preferred option is the exhaust side. YOU MUST SPECIFY UPON ORDERING YOUR KIT WHICH SIDE THE PUMP IS TO BE MOUNTED BECAUSE THE SUMPS ARE MACHINED TO SUIT & CANNOT BE MODIFIED LATER. |
