The
SBD 284 & SBD278 cams have been designed give about 15 -20 BHP*
over standard cams, without compromising the drivability of the
standard engine, they produce a power band of 3250 - 8200 RPM. They
can be used with the standard pistons when the valve pockets are
deepened. If used with Omega pistons & steel rods it will allow
the compression to be raised. This increases the torque across the
entire rev range and the steel rods allow the use of higher revs.

The
SBD278 and SBD 269 cams are new cams that have been designed to
give the widest possible power band & although the duration
appears to be shorter than the hydraulic profiles, they have a bigger
opening area from 1mm lift onwards. Power band 2500 - 8500 RPM.
Ideal choice for rally/race.

All SBD camshafts
have been designed in conjunction with Kent Cams and extensively tested
on the dynamometer. Because of the costs involved in developing and testing,
we charge a premium price for all our own cam profiles. If however, you
wish to purchase Kent Cam profiles from their normal range of cams standard
listings, these will be available at normal Kent Cams prices.
All
Exhaust cams shown are shortened for Distributor less use if you intend
on using a Distributor please remove the 'S' from the end of part number
when ordering.
*Power
gains can only be achieved provided your engine has the components to
complement it. E.g. exhaust manifold & system, induction system &
cylinder head porting where required. If you look at our upgrade kits
they will give you more help.
